What You'll Learn in this Lesson

The formula for momentum (p) is p = m*v. Any object that is moving has momentum and within a system, momentum is always conserved. That means that the amount of momentum lost by one object is equivalent to the same amount of momentum gained by another object. Momentum is also very related to force (F = m*a) and kinetic energy (E = 1/2mv^2).
